David Crosby, the singer, songwriter and guitarist and member of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, has died.
His spouse, Jan Dance, advised Selection Thursday, “It’s with nice unhappiness after an extended sickness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has handed away. He was lovingly surrounded by his spouse and soulmate Jan and son Django. Though he’s now not right here with us, his humanity and sort soul will proceed to information and encourage us.”
She continues, “His legacy will proceed to stay on via his legendary music. Peace, love, and concord to all who knew David and people he touched. We’ll miss him dearly. At the moment, we respectfully and kindly ask for privateness as we grieve and attempt to cope with our profound loss. Thanks for the love and prayers.”
Born in Los Angeles, David based the band The Byrds in 1964, discovering their first primary hit … solely a 12 months later because of a canopy of Bob Dylan‘s “Mr. Tambourine Man.”
It was in 1968 when Crosby shaped Crosby, Stills & Nash with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. The group received a Grammy for Finest New Artist in 1969.
Over time, members of the group have been capable of collab with different artists freely — and did so with the likes of Neil Young at Woodstock.
Crosby was inducted into The Rock and Roll Corridor of Fame as each a member of The Byrds and for his efforts with Crosby, Stills & Nash.
